Trump's Georgia lawyers filed a motion today to quash the special grand jury report recommending indictments in his case involving tampering in the 2020 election. None of the released materials name which individuals the special grand jury recommends indicting, although Trump is widely believed to be on the list. The DA's office would need to convene a separate grand jury to actually issue indictments against Trump or anyone else. The motion to quash filed today argued among other things that the Georgia law that established the special grand jury was unconstitutionally vague, that public comments by the foreperson and other grand jury members tainted the process, and that the grand jury didn't protect Trump's right to due process. They ask that Fulton County DA Fani Willis be disqualified because of a conflict of interest and that all material in the grand jury report be excluded from any future proceedings. They have also asked a different Fulton County judge to hear this motion instead of Judge McBurney, who is currently presiding in the case.

Just another delaying tactic on Trump's part.

The New York grand jury heard yesterday from Bob Costello, an advisor to Michael Cohen. Trump's attorneys suggested he be called, presumably to rebut what Cohen has testified to. According to what Costello said in public, it was all Cohen's idea to pay hush money to Stormy Daniels, and Trump knew nothing about it until later. Cohen was also in New York yesterday, prepared to testify again in response to what Costello may have said, but the DA informed him that his testimony wasn't needed.

The New York grand jury meets Mondays and Wednesdays, so unless they decide to call any additional witnesses, a vote on an indictment will probably take place tomorrow.

The district attorney canceled today's grand jury meeting and told the jurors to be on standby for tomorrow morning.

No indictment today.
