A Little Schadenfreude re Computer Programmers and such

Apparently, in the last few weeks there has been a major advancement in Artificial Intelligence with the OpenAI Chat GPT thing.

I have to admit that it is kind of funny to watch computer programmers and such shitting bricks about how good this thing is at coding and other knowledge fields. They figure their field is going away soon.

One computer guy said he always figured low-skill workers would be replaced by AI, but not knowledge people like him.

Oh-gee too bad-so sad-sucks to be you-People like you have been racing as fast as possible (with no regard for the consequences) to do AI Crap (TM)-Maybe next time you will think about it.

In the words of Don Edwards in "The Old Cowman"-"I thanks the Lord I wasn't born, no later than I was."

There is simply no way this AI stuff ends in a good place for Humanity.

There are too many people, companies and countries (cough, China, Cough)pushing forward as fast as possible on AI with no regard for the consequences.

ChatGPT doesn't code. It's just a hyper-Google.

Here's what ChatGPT responds to "Can artificial intelligence replace programmers?"

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to automate certain tasks that are currently performed by programmers, such as the writing of simple code or the debugging of programs. However, it is unlikely that AI will be able to fully replace programmers in the near future. Programmers perform a wide range of tasks that require creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, which are difficult for AI to replicate. Additionally, programming involves the understanding and application of complex algorithms and data structures, as well as an in-depth knowledge of a particular programming language or platform. It is therefore unlikely that AI will be able to fully replace the role of a programmer anytime soon.

I don't have to worry about AI taking my job. I'm not a programmer; my clients pay me to administer their systems.
