Where is our Arizona Newshound?

#1 Post by Spock » Fri Dec 09, 2022 1:20 pm

I would have thought that he would have told us about Senator Synema(Sp?) switching from Democrat to Independent. I guess he must have missed it.

Oh, and BTW, Sam Brinton is in trouble for a second luggage theft from a carousel. It was not a one-off. I guess we know where he gets his dresses and shoes. I wonder if another shoe will drop? (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

Silly guy - that's not news. It doesn't let them roll Trump's name around in their mouths, so, no-go.

Sinema is just grandstanding in order to fend off a potential Democratic primary challenger. She hopes to pull a Joe Lieberman to get another term in the Senate (even though she criticized Lieberman when he did the exact same thing 16 years ago).

Her antics may well cost the Democrats her seat in two years.

And since you mentioned Sam Brinton, how about now-former Florida State Representative Joe Harding, sponsor of the Don't Say Gay bill. He was just indicted on federal fraud charges in connection with falsifying documents to obtain $150,000 in COVID relief payments. I doubt that any airport carousel luggage is worth that much. If he winds up in prison, he'll get some up close and personal experience with don't say gay.

She's not grandstanding. It will give Democrats a difficult choice in two years, because there may well be enough MAGA Republicans in Arizona to win a plurality if Senator Sinema and the Democratic nominee (probably Rep. Gallego) split the vote. Leaving the party was her best shot at winning reelection, because she wasn't going to win the 2024 primary.

Yet another data point in favor of ranked choice voting.

In the meantime, I predict that Republicans will spend an enormous amount of time during the next two years talking about various witch hunts, and essentially no time talking about how they plan to use their power to improve the lives of the American people. --Bob

Some of us work when required. I've been helping a client fix their problem with a program using IBM's MQ all bloody day.

Sinema is a DINO, a Blue Dog. She beat Martha McSally thanks to huge corporate donations, especially from big pharma. Look for her to get a C-level job with them after she's out of office.

She says she'll caucus with the Democrats, but isn't anything like Bernie Sanders and Angus King. I suppose if she wasn't bisexual and a hero to the LGBT+++ community, she would have registered as a Republican.
