Sitting here on a lazy Saturday evening, watching some of my favorite scary movies. At the moment, it's Ridley Scott's spooky haunted-house-in-outer-space masterpiece, "Alien." Coming soon:
The Omen (the original, with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, not the watered-down snore of a remake)
Carrie (again, the original, with Sissy Spacek and the amazing Piper Laurie)
Halloween
Scream
Jaws (all three of the last are just the originals, no crappy sequels invited)
Rosemary's Baby
The Silence of the Lambs (technically, not a horror movie, but it still has some jolts)
Frankenstein (and Bride of Frankenstein)
And to prove that Halloween should be fun, not just scary:
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Bubba Ho-Tep
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Corpse Bride
and
of course
Young Frankenstein.
I don't think I'll get them all watched before the 31st.....
Edited to add that I can't believe I left my all-time favorite horror movie off the above list. Please add The Exorcist and note that it's the last one I'll watch, on Halloween Night itself.

As is Ossie Davis.
"Would you like a Ding Dong? ... I don't mean mine, I mean a chocolate one! Of course, mine would be chocolate too, now that they had me dyed."

Well, duh.
Neither is "Plan 9," although I kinda like that one.
And amazingly enough, *my* movie isn't on there either....

I hate scary movies, they make me have bad dreams. I'm just posting in this thread so KT can see the photo we took in Vegas way back in July that I finally downloaded from my digital camera.
This is also in Phoenix btw.....

Who is that dork between the two hot chicks?
FWIW, I'm thinner now. Not a whole lot thinner, but thinner nonetheless. I have to drop a few more, so I won't scare the small children on my cruise in May...
(FTR, to be completely and brutally honest, I've also got to make sure I'm well below the point where I don't have to pay for an extra seat in a helicopter, and where I can go horseback riding if I choose to do that....So that's below 250 for the first, and 235 for the second.)

I see no dork in the photo. WTG on the weight loss. You should join our B4 team just for fun. It's hard work, I know. I fight it every single day. You think I keep this school girl figure without sacrifice? j/k
Keep up the good work. You will feel better and you will enjoy that cruise.

FWIW, I'm doing Nutrisystem. It ain't perfect (what diet is?), but it's working. The meals range from nearly inedible (powdered eggs...yecch) to OK (mac and cheese, chicken salad, meatloaf, the breakfast bars) to "Hey, this s**t is pretty good!" (mushroom risotto, ham and bean soup, black bean soup, and chocolate cake and pudding). You supplement with salads (lots and lots of salads), fruit, other veggies, and milk.
I've also just started hitting the treadmill...
I tell ya, this cruise is a great motivator. I may not be in speedo shape by then (now THERE's a mental image just before bedtime for ya!), but I'll definitely have to buy some new clothes.

I have a friend who did Nutrisystem years back. I poopooed it and was proved wrong. Not that I didn't think she would lose weight - I didn't think she would keep it off once she went back to regular food. She did - and even lost more.
I see the possibility of speedos in your future, kt!
