Buying watches from Amazon

So, I wanted a watch for my birthday on Oct. 3rd and I picked one out from Amazon.

It arrived on time and I liked it very much. The only problem was that the metal wristband was too big.

So hubby took it in to our usual jeweler. He refused because too many people are buying things on Amazon and wanting them fixed by locals.

We also checked with other jewelers and got the same answer.

Anyone else having a problem like this?

Ellen

I haven’t had that problem but I understand where the jewelers are coming from.

I don’t have a problem buying online unless the person uses a brick and mortar store’s inventory to shop and touch & feel before buying then buys online.

Times are changing and the jewelers will need to adjust to their new role in the economy.

My suggestion would be to find a small jeweler who operates out of a grocery store. They mainly do repairs anyway so they won’t be as bent if they didn’t make the sale.
