Diving Into The Deep End With The Russians

No, I am not going off to help Putin take the Ukraine-I have been prompted to dig into the Russian writers a little.
I have read very few of the "Great Novels" but Dostoevsky (and maybe Tolstoy) have been calling my name. I have previously read a lot of Solzhenitsyn.
I was going to read War and Peace this winter-but I decided to start with Crime and Punishment-I am about 1/4 of the way in and so far so good. While I normally read several books at one time, I decided to concentrate on C&P so I can finish the damn thing.
Lex Friedman, on his podcast with Jordan Peterson, said his best friends are in The Brothers Karamazov.
Jordan Peterson sings the praises of Dostoevsky and says he ruined literature for him because he will never find anything to top it.
He says-Dostoevsky essentially predicted the disasters to come in Russia in the 20th century.
Adding Dostoevsky to my Solzhenitsyn should be a good background.
For Christmas, I asked the Spocklette for a certain translation of Brothers Karamazov and War and Peace and set of Glencairn whiskey glasses.
