Veteran character actor best known for playing the sheriff of Cabot's Cove on Murder She Wrote, along with guest appearances on numerous other TV series. He's featured in the commercial below with Tom Bosley, whom he succeeded as the Cabot Cove sheriff (a new character, not a recasting).

That was great, when Sheriff Tupper retired and Sheriff Metzger took over. Tupper would just stand back, and Mrs. Fletcher would solve the crimes. It was a partnership with Metzger. Masak did a great job on the show.
