Ms. Truss had the honour of being the third female Prime Minister (our nation is far behind many others in this area), the last official to meet with Queen Elizabeth II, and the PM who officiated at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and King Charles’s accession. Boris Johnson has resigned from Parliament. Though he hopes for a comeback à la Churchill in 1951, his political career is probably over.
A few years ago, the Conservative party was overwhelmingly popular due to Labour scandals including antisemitic incidents. Now, after Conservative missteps implementing Brexit, Labour is ahead in polls.
