Biden finally visited El Paso today. He also announced policies to deal with the crisis at the border. He's hamstrung by congressional gridlock, court rulings and pushback from the Texas and Arizona governors, but at least he's no longer ignoring the problem.

Too late and ignoring, and I mean completely dismissing, the problem for too long makes this visit seem disengenuous, like a kid who finally takes that bite of spinach and just sits there with it in his mouth refusing to swallow it.

And what policies do we need? How about ones that follow and enforce the laws we have. That is really all most of us, including the Border Patrol want. Not more unilaterally issued policies that can be interpreted 20 different ways.

Congressional grid-lock? He waited until his party was out of the majority so he could use that as an excuse.

Pushback from Texas and Arizona? Enforce the laws is all they are asking.

Biden put lipstick on a pig. That is all.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Oh, is there a crisis at the border? BiT nailed it.

The pandemic restrictions that allowed Border Patrol to expel anyone crossing from Mexico are about to end. The administration is scrambling to prevent an onslaught of migrants:
  • Everyone from Mayorkas and Garland on down is announcing that the border isn't open, to counter lies being spread by coyotes.
  • A new rule allows 30,000 immigrants a month from Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Haiti to enter the U.S. after going through a legal application process.
  • Mexico has agreed to accept migrants from those countries who don't follow the new process and just show up at the U.S. border.
  • Another 1,500 military troops are being deployed to back up the Border Patrol.

That shows how desperate they are.

Um, why are they here in the first place? In such overwhelming numbers? Especially when there are so many that do it the correct, legal way? Anybody care to ponder that? Probly not. Beside the point. If there is a point.
