Alaska is sending a Democrat to the House of Representatives. Too many voters who had Mark Begich as their first choice decided that they'd rather be represented by Rep.-elect Peltola than by Sarah (the Quitter) Palin.
There will be a rematch in November, with Peltola as the incumbent. --Bob

Begich, Palin, and Peltola were the only candidates on the ballot for the special election because the fourth-place finisher dropped out. There will be a libertarian on the ballot in November. This makes up for the seat the Democrats just lost as Charlie Crist resigned his Congressional seat in Florida today to campaign full time for governor. I'm not sure if or when they'll have a special election to replace him this late in his term.
