Prime Day

So apparently it is Amazon Prime Day(s). Everyone is talking about it. I didn't realize it was happening but benefited anyway.
A few weeks ago I did laundry. I didn't check the pockets. I washed my Airpod Pros. They are now very clean. They still work pretty good, as basic headphones. Battery works, bluetooth connects, good sound, but the ambient and noise cancelling modes make a hissing noise and folks say they can hardly hear me talking if I'm on the phone or conf. call. I guess the microphones are damaged (used by ambient and noise cancelling modes as well).
I paid $250 for them two and a half years ago. My AppleCare expired in February. New ones were $220 at Best Buy so I planned on just using my Bose Soundsports I exercise in. Not quite the sound quality but not wanting to spend $220 on new ones.
Rewind a a month or so: I got an email from Best Buy that I still had 4 of 4 $50 purchases to make to earn a $50 credit. I had to register my Best Buy card (never use except to buy at Best Buy for additional discounts) for the promotion, but it wouldn't let me do it online. So I called customer service ( overseas) and the nice gentleman said he got to promotion activated but it might not show as active on my account. It didn't. But I made the 4 $50 purchases on the card anyway. Pretty easy to do, I just used it to purchase gas for our trip back to Houston for my son's wedding. After making 5 or so $50+ purchases I put the card back in my desk and waited to see what happened. I saw my 3-4 $5 credits show up from the normal program, but not the $50. I figured I'd have to call customer service again, forward them the origianl email and tell them about the call on June 17th.
Fast forward to Monday: I got an email saying "Your $50 reward has arrived!". Yea!. I decided I'd use it to offset my purchase of some new Airpod Pros. So I go online and they are on sale for $170 ($10 more than on Amazon) and I now have $70 of Best Buy credits. And since I have an active Geek Squad membership, I get the AppleCare+ for free (a savings of $15).
So I bought new ones, saved $40 because of Amazon Prime Days (Best Buy has the sale to compete with Amazon), got $70 off with the credits, and AppleCare for free. So I'm pretty happy with that.
