Actor best known for his roles in several Sam Peckinpah films, most notably The Wild Bunch in which he and Strother Martin played a pair of bottom-feeding bounty hunters. They would play similar roles the next year in Peckinpah's The Ballad of Cable Hogue. Jones also wrote and directed the cult classic science fiction film, A Boy and His Dog.
