Lyrically Speaking 2022 - Day 3
June 29, 2022
A Tribute to the Bridge
Each of these lyrics take place during the "bridge" of a song. To explain what that is, I'll use words stolen directly
from Al Gore's Internet:
The bridge doesn’t have a set place in a song. However, it often goes in between the verse and the chorus, or between a
solo and the chorus or verse. And it frequently appears later on in the song, to break it up and create momentum before
the final chorus. It may repeat in the song, or draw on elements of its other components. Many writers create their music
instinctively. In these cases, you’ll find compositions are more complex and varied, with bridges popping up in unusual
places.
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist
1. This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in
2. 'Cause you make me feel
Like I'm more than a friend
Like I'm the journey
And you're the journey's end
3. Nothing compares, no worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?
4. If I had just one wish, only one demand
I hope he's not like me, I hope he understands
That he can take this life and hold it by the hand
5. Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you
Even when I know you're wrong?
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze-dried romance
Five hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had, and me?
6. Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad, I missed you so, so bad
Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
And you should know that
I missed you so, so bad
7. There are people in your life
Who've come and gone
They let you down
You know they've hurt your pride
You better put it all behind you baby
8. It's sad, oh there's been mornings
Out on the road without you
Without your charms
9. The clouds never expect it when it rains
But the sea changes colours
But the sea does not change
So with the slow, graceful flow of age
I went forth with an age old desire to please
10. I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know the things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me, oh babe
Ooh
11. They say that all in love is fair
Yeah, but you don't care
But you know what to do (to do)
When it gets hold of you
And with a little help from above
12. Saving up your money for a rainy day
Givin' all your clothes to charity
Last night the wife said, "Oh boy, when you're dead
You don't take nothing with you but your soul
Think"
Kroxquo Bonus: Give me lyrics that occur during the bridge with artist.

Image Bonus: Show me any kind of bridge(s), be it a structure or person.
