Well, I finally saw Mamma Mia....

A very good production by a very good Long Island theatre, featuring some very good performers.

It lived up to my expectations.

A badly crafted musical with cardboard characters and a cardboard plot patched together with spit and chewing gum as an excuse to string together a bunch of poorly motivated song cues.

I generally object to jukebox musicals anyway. And when one is not a big fan of the music itself, the last possibility of squeezing some fun out of it is gone.

In fairness, I must report that most of the sold-out crowd seemed to love it.

Happy to oblige!

My feelings about ABBA were a standing joke on the old Jipter board.
