I really only get to listen to CNBC in the spring so trends over time can jump out at me.
Spring 2020-Don't buy oil stocks-They are really cheap. but they are going to stay down forever because of secular changes in the market-Electric Vehicles and such."
Spring 2021-Basically the same.
Spring 2022-After most oil related stocks have doubled (or more) in the last 2 years.
"Buy oil related stocks NOW!!!!-there is still room to run-BUY, BUY, BUY!!!!!!!"
Um, guys and gals-maybe if you are worth your salt as investment advisors you would have been telling people to buy them 2 years ago when they were dirt cheap.
For the record-I have long been over weighted on oil-related stocks but I sure as hell ain't buying now.
