That's kind of the problem; the info I have is contained in an old Will that was probated back in 1930, so I need to work forward. The guy appears to have been someone 'of substance' so I've got a little bit to go on, and some avenues to pursue when I've got the time. Maybe the Ancestry angle is the wrong one for this type of thing? I'm no expert in the research tools. It would certainly be helpful if you knew any contemporary descendants of said person. It's easier to work back through time if you have a current member (preferably US).

It's very likely Ancestry has your subject. You have the will, does it list the children's names? Shoot, I'm on the road so don't have it in front of me, but I don't recall seeing children named, just siblings, in-laws, and the like, though I could be mistaken. I believe the will was written in the early nineteen-teens, and probated in1930, and I recall a codicil. I haven't, and have no plans to.
