I meant emergency baby formula airlifts to Biden's America.

You Commies will make excuses for your guy(s) until they turn on you and you are the one against the wall.

And as Solzhenitsyn taught us-even then you will make excuses for them.

Neither did any other former President, yet you didn't see emergency baby formula airlifts under any of them.

Communism causes shortages of everything. It is a feature, not a bug.

Wow, that's the most twisted logic I've ever heard from you.

Please explain how the U.S. is now a communist country.

You didn't see emergency baby formula airlifts because there wasn't a contamination shutdown at one plant that manufactured about 20% of the baby formula in the United States. That's not communism; that's the result of unfettered market capitalism, where a few large companies get a near-monopoly in a field and effectively shut out competition. Those companies then concentrate their operations at a few facilities to maximize profits, and ignore the risk of what happens when there's a catastrophe at one of those facilities.

In one sense, the baby formula shortage was a disaster waiting to happen because monopolistic companies ignored risk in pursuit of short-term profits. That's a feature of unfettered market capitalism, not a bug.

At least Biden took action to get baby formula into this country and invoked the Defense Production Act. That's in contrast to Trump tossing paper towels in Puerto Rico while delaying aid that resulted in hundreds of needless deaths.

This might surprise you, but I am not a fan of unfettered market capitalism. My economic philosophy leans more to Distributionism-ie Chesterton and Hilaire Belloc stuff.

The rest of it-just excuses-plus the obligatory random attack on Trump.

This topic makes me think of Teddy Roosevelt's trust busting. I don't know much about TR so I'm looking forward to the TV special Theodore Roosevelt produced by the brilliant Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Biden echoes TR when he often states "I'm a capitalist. But capitalism without competition isn't capitalism; it’s exploitation." Sadly, Biden can't channel Roosevelt any more than Trump can.

If the FDA were about to shutdown a plant that accounted for 20% of baby formula in the US in Feb, don't you think they should have sounded the alarm and done something to ensure that what they were going to do would not result in a crisis in May? Like what they are trying to do now? Maybe done that in March, before it became headline news?

Or does Biden get a pass on that too? Like he does for inflation, gas prices, supply chain failures, covid hypocrisy, Afghanistan, the southern border, his obvious senility, making dangerous and contradictory statements that have to be walked back, his possible involvement in corruption documented on his son's laptop emails etc,etc....

No republican would.

Channeling your inner commie again I see and blaming your ideological enemies for the faults in Biden's America. You travel a well-trod path my friend.

Then it was "Reactionaries", "Wreckers" and Kulaks.

Now it is "Trumpists" and Abbott.

Excuse me? Perhaps you do actually live on a different planet, but when did trump get the benefit of any doubt on ANYTHING? Shit, your ilk called him an anti-semite and a nazi when he has Jewish children and grandchildren.

What do you care? If these kids grow up and get shot, you shrug. Maybe if they are malnourished they will be thinner targets for your fellow gun heathens.

At least, I want to add a second possible exit point to a classroom.

Why are you so opposed to and offended by that simple idea?

Maybe you treat your elementary age kids as babies and don't think they could ever climb out a window-but up until about 5 minutes ago-basically every kid in the world could and they would help the ones who couldn't.

How long would it take for a classroom of kids to climb through a window? What it's on the third floor?

Has any school shooter been facilitated by a second classroom door?

See my post in the other thread-Design new schools with one level.

A second door helping a potential shooter is probably a risk you have to take because of the options that a second escape/entry point provides for escape and law enforcement.

However, I doubt very much that a second door has helped a shooter as it seems that most classrooms have only one door opening onto a central hallway and once a shooter is in the hall-ALL the classrooms are trapped like rats in a barrel.

As for speed, I bet a classroom full of kids could climb through a window lickety-split if they had to. Maybe, Weyoun's kids couldn't since he treats them like babies-but most kids could.

Most new schools (where space permits) have one floor, to help teachers and students with limited mobility, both on normal school days and in emergencies.
