Speaking of Lake Mead . . .

#1 Post by Appa23 » Tue May 10, 2022 10:02 am

Currently, Lake Mead no longer is the largest reservoir in the United States.

According to one source, Lake Sakakawea has moved to the top of the charts, from 4th to 1st, this year. Lake Oahe now is 2nd, I believe, followed by Lake Mead and Lake Powell.

All four are seeing significant, if not historic, drops in elevation/volume.

I have read that the low water level in Lake Mead (Las Vegas area) has been exposing long-submeged bodies dumped there.

ETA: I just noticed that one of the articles I read was here, in the "Meanwhile, in Florida...", posted by Vandal last week.
