RIP CNN+

The Bored conservatives will have a field day with this one. Warner Discovery announced today that CNN+, which has been heavily promoted by the network the last few weeks, is ceasing operations on April 30. CNN had lined up considerable on-air talent for the new streaming service and planned to launch a variety of new shows. The service isn't going away totally. Instead, it's part of Warner Discovery's plan to combine all its streaming services under the HBO banner. Subscribers would be able to select various bundles, much the way that Disney Plus offers bundled pricing with Hulu and ESPN. CNN Had charged $6 a month or $60 a year for the CNN+ service and said they had 100,000 to 150,000 subscribers in the first month of operations. Obviously, they won't be getting any more and will have to refund the remainder of the annual subscription charges.
