RIP Jack Higgins

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:38 pm

Real name Henry Patterson. He wrote dozens of thrillers, including the best-selling The Eagle Has Landed, under a variety of pen names.

Age 92.

I am a fan, but back in the 90's when I was on a big Jack Higgins kick, I figured out that he kept writing the same books over and over-moreso than with most thriller writers I think.

Some were almost exactly the same, with just some names and stuff changed.

Higgins was far from the only writer who kept churning out the same stuff. A lot of romance writers pretty much have two or three standard plots and everything they write is the same story with different names in different places. And their fans don't seem to mind.
