One does not "decide" their gender any more than they decide their skin color. There was a question posed to a friend of mine who is gay some time ago. He was asked, "When did you decide to be gay?" His reply to that person was, "I don't know, when did you decide not to be?"

I am not subscribing to queer theory, so I don't really know, seriously. And since I don't subscribe to it, I don't care. I'd rather just go on doing what the english language has done since its inception until these people concocted their queer theory. They are free to do anything they want. But so am I.

I am not offended by trans people and I do not want to needlessly offend them, but I do judge them by their character, and Thomas does not seem to be at all concerned about the young women he [whoops, missed that one] offends by doing what (he/she/whatever) does. And they certainly don't have the right to require me to do anything special for them, like let them impose their political and social views on me or anyone else.

Is it as offensive as having others think they need to speak for them? I would suppose trans people are as individual as anyone else; some may take offense while others couldn't care less. I would also suppose that for the most part, they are as capable of speaking up for themselves as any other person.

You know what, bob. If I met a transgender person on the street and I spoke to that person, I would use whatever pronouns seemed appropriate as to what the appearance they are projecting was. If they wanted to correct me, I would honor their wishes. I will and have always judged people by the content of their character, not what they look like.
However, if they started getting in my face and preaching their political and social agenda to me, that would affect my assessment of their character. My judgment of that person would change.
This Thomas person is in the public arena, and HE has shown me his character. And I will treat him with the same amount of respect he shows the young women he has stepped over to get his 15 minutes of fame. If he wants to be a woman, I have no problem with that. Let him go live his life as a woman. But he has stepped over a line, and I question his motives and agenda. And I am free to do so .If you had any brains, you would acknowledge that and keep your ignorant crusading to yourself. But you don't. I and thousands of young women are offended by what he has done and promotes.

I didn't claim all Republicans do that. I called out flock and (in the past) BiT, who do. You have expressed your desire to obliterate the party many times. Do I need to search the whole history here? And, I don't recall them, Flock or BiT,supporting your assertion.
