When did tv commercials begin to focus only on boomer diseases and weird drugs with alien names rather than tampax and cereal?

What I want to know is why they let that woman park her car in the middle of her kid's school concert? Isn't that the conductor's stand?

And she has her back to the performers! How rude!

I think the trigger was when little Tommy found out he couldn't immediately be able to ride a bike and swim if he used a tampon as advertised.
