Pet depression

When one of a bonded pair dies, it is so difficult to watch the survivor try to cope.
Poor Scoot has become very clingy, sleeps a lot on all the places Java slept, and needs so much attention, which he is getting.
He sometimes just sits and stares at me.
Heartbreaking.

They were eleven, I had them for ten years. He and Java were surrendered from a hoarding situation, and were adopted together as a bonded pair. Scoot is the busy inquisitive one, Java was the laid back, only love Mama boy, but they slept together, groomed watch other, and were brothers.
Scoot is so lost.

The staring could just be aging...doesn't make it easier. Merv is a starer, but he's 14. Poor Scoot.

They have an amazing ability to live In The Now, so this will pass. But any excuse for extra cuddles is a good one.
