RIP Hardy Kruger
Starred in "Flight of the Phoenix", "Hatari", and "A Bridge Too Far", to name but three, age 94.

Flight of the Phoenix is one of my favorite films, and the movie really becomes special when his character steps off the sidelines and tells the other crash survivors that he knows how they can get to safety. He was also in The Wild Geese, a guilty pleasure of mine.
Spock will enjoy this. After filming Hatari, Kruger loved the African experience so much that he bought a large piece of land in Tanzania near where Hatari was filmed and lived there for a number of years.
