Goodbye Jakarta, Hello Nusantara

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Jan 18, 2022 5:02 pm

Indonesia has officially moved its capital from Jakarta to a jungle area in the east of Borneo which has been named Nusantara. The new capital will need to be built from scratch with the first stage of development beginning later this year and lasting until 2024. This is somewhat similar to my honorary country of Belize moving its capital to Belmopan a few years back.

Look for this to be a high-value question on Jeopardy in years to come.

I was a little confused by what you wrote. I think it's more precise to write that Indonesia has officially approved moving its capital. The actual move hasn't happened yet. --Bob
