I've noticed that some of you have an asterisk after your score (Wordle 235 4/6*) and some don't (Wordle 235 4/6).

Does the asterisk mean anything? Is Ford Frick running the game?

I don't know, but my guess would be it's the difference between hard mode and not hard mode. --Bob

You are correct.

I thought it looked different this morning, but I didn't realize the reason. I use the colorblind mode and that hasn't changed.

No Wordle update leads to discovery of 80-year-old hostage

Police rescued an 80-year-old suburban Chicago woman who was held hostage for nearly 21 hours by a man with scissors, and they checked on her in large part because she couldn’t text one of her daughters her daily Wordle score during the ordeal

I just read that the old URL is supposed to redirect to the NY Times website. That's not happening for me -- yet.

This one is under protest. Somehow, the Times switched me out of colorblind mode without me knowing it, so I got the middle three letters correct but in the wrong places my first guess. I thought they were in the right places (green) and kept trying to come up with a first and last letter to go with them without any success.
