KFGO radio out of Fargo-"Trivia Time"-I had not heard the program before.


You call in and answer till you get wrong.

Yesterday concentrated on basic history questions.

One guy before me got 8 right and I was impressed with him. I would have went down on 2 of his because I read 2 much into one of the questions and I would have said "Delaware" for first US colony (Va is the obvious answer. as I said they are basic.

If you miss one-others call in on the same q. I got in on "Balboa"-first to see Pacific.

I answwered 9 in a row with no hesitation (I answered tentatively on "Capone" as who was known as Scarface?) They ran out of time and I was declared the winner.

After the show was over-they said "He probably could have gone all day"

I won a bunch of radio contest crap that I will probably never pick up-but it was fun.

As I was headed to CO Spgs. Friday morning, I was still within range of
RadioDude when the morning trivia game came on.

RD gave the name of a street that was renamed in honor of a famous person, and the hint was that this person has the most television hours of any person in history. The listener guess Johnny Carson even as I was yelling Philbis! Philbis! at the radio.

Oh well.

The next person got one of the easiest questions in the history of radio quizzes, "who lives at 1600 PA Avenue?"

No hints on that one.

I won Sports Trivia last week by knowing that the Washington Bullets won the 1978 NBA championship.

OK, I didn't know it. I think I was the only listener who was online at the time.

Ed Schultz has a regional talk show (In addition to his national one) on KFGO in the mornings. I have usually enjoyed his regional perspective-all through his VAST political switch. I remember when Senators Dorgan and Conrad would not come on his show because "He asked them the tough questions." Wow-times have changed.

Anyway, there is a national issue that he is pushing hard for on the regional show (Windfall profits tax on oil companies.) Ed hates the Oil companies. Obviously, I am STRONGLY opposed to a windfall profits tax. I have been tempted to call in and bring in the point that the big multi-nationals will be able to move/shelter income or whatever. But, the tax might more hurt the smaller exploration companies/landowners etc in ND where there is a lot of exploration and leasing going on. This is a take I have seen from individuals with small oil comapny experience and knowledge.

I wonder how Ed would blow off that populist take on his populist issue.
BUT I CAN"T.

Lots of people I know heard me on the radio for trivia yesterday-farmers in the field (where I was) and so forth and way too many people across KFGO land know me.
