Lyrically Speaking Special #2 - Man On The Moon

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Wed Nov 17, 2021 9:55 am

Identify the following 120 songs from the provided lyrics, and then match them into 60 pairs based on a Tangredi, or a principle you must discover for yourself.

Alternate matches are very possible, however, I am (reasonably) confident there will be only one best solution to the game.

I had to add a few extraneous periods to some of the lyrics to prevent tripping the Bored's mysterious Internal Server Error code... so keep 'em there if you copy/paste the lyrics!

Good luck and have fun!

1. Hope you got your things together

First consolidation …

Identify the following 120 songs from the provided lyrics, and then match them into 60 pairs based on a Tangredi, or a principle you must discover for yourself.

Alternate matches are very possible, however, I am (reasonably) confident there will be only one best solution to the game.

I had to add a few extraneous periods to some of the lyrics to prevent tripping the Bored's mysterious Internal Server Error code... so keep 'em there if you copy/paste the lyrics!

Good luck and have fun!

The lone ? response in the consolidation contains the correct song.

Other than a few extraneous words in the titles that won't matter, everything else on the consolidation is good to go!

So we can remove the lyrics from the correct answers …

Identify the following 120 songs from the provided lyrics, and then match them into 60 pairs based on a Tangredi, or a principle you must discover for yourself.

Alternate matches are very possible, however, I am (reasonably) confident there will be only one best solution to the game.

I had to add a few extraneous periods to some of the lyrics to prevent tripping the Bored's mysterious Internal Server Error code... so keep 'em there if you copy/paste the lyrics!

I just heard these lyrics on Sirius XM's Bob Marley station.

So, a Bob Marley song? I wasn't playing attention.

A few songs jump out at me as being kind of odd for this list -

Dominick the Donkey
I Think I'm a Clone Now
Pink Panther Theme
Joe's Garage

I'm thinking there might be something about a word in the title rather than anything to do with the artist. For Diminick for example, if there was some kind of match for Lou Monte, there are many Lous that could be used and I am sure other Montes. I think there is a distinctive word in the title that matches up elsewhere.

Donkey
Clone
Panther (could have used many pink songs that actually have lyrics)
Garage

Just spitballing ideas.
You live and learn. Or at least you live. - Douglas Adams

Looking good! The dual answer one still has the correct song in it... and I'll even add that all of Esto's answers are correct as well.

The lone ? response in the consolidation contains the correct song.

Good luck and have fun!

Hmmmm....

I didn't think this theme was going to be easy, but I sure thought a good man would have figured it out by now.

Apparently, there are no good men left. I've tried to make sensible matches but, a) I'm terrible at these, and, b) the ones I've gotten are too simple (Paint it Black/White and Nerdy, Send Me an Angel/Devil Woman).

Can the usual suspects please give this another shot? I hate to see good talent wasted.

I just haven't had the time to look at this in detail, but I will. I promise.

I have a gut feeling that the artists aren't going to matter in this one, since some are repeated, but I could just be so wrong.

On a related note, does anyone know if things are alright with mrkelley? I had noticed a while back he last logged in here just hours before I posted this game, and that's still the case...
