I found Smith rather late in life-circa 2010-but I did a pretty complete read of his books and he lit the fire for me to go to Africa in 2013 (and by extension 2021).

Thank You Mr. Smith.

From the obit-I just learned now of his autobiography.

One of my friends finds an author and reads every book by that author, attempting to do it in chronological order. He had a great time with Smith.

I read two -- Shout at the Devil and one of the ancient Egypt entries, can't remember the name.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller
