RIP Eddie Robinson

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Oct 06, 2021 6:43 am

Former MLB player and later GM of the Atlanta Braves (when Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's home run record) and Texas Rangers. Robinson had been the oldest living ex-MLB player and the only living member of the Cleveland Indians 1948 World Series team. His career started during World War II, and he played for seven different AL teams. His total baseball career lasted nearly 70 years.

Age 100.

And with Robinson's death, there are only three living members of the Philadelphia Athletics (TLAF's first love).

Bill Harrington, born October 3, 1927
Bobby Shantz, born September 26, 1925
Bill Wilson, born November 6, 1928
