Unrelated to this except that mrk"s mention of Simon and Garfunkel reminded me of this. I've got an obscure story to tell about their live recording in Houston of "Bye Bye Love." If you listen you'll hear what kind of sounds like a screeching guitar note, and then you can hear the crowd react. Most people probably assume that it is a guitar sound. It was actually a guy I knew named Roger Eckert. He used to do what he called the rebel yell, and it was really quite extraordinary. First, he'd bend over for quite awhile, the idea being that more blood would flow to his vocal chords, thus enhancing the volume of his yell. Not sure if that actually enhanced it or not, but, anyway, that's what he'd do. Then he'd raise up and unleash this piercing yell with incredible vigor. I've never heard another human manage to make such a loud sound.

Listen to that recording and you'll see. That's him.

If you've heard that recording before and listen to it again now, you'll probably remember having heard it before when you hear ii again now. I'll be curious to know who here knew that that sound was a guy yelling.
