San Diego has lost 77 games so the Padres cannot win more than 85 games. San Francisco has won 100 games so San Diego cannot win the National League Western Division. The Dodgers have won 99 games so the Padres will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the National League Western Division. Milwaukee and St. Louis each have won at least 86 games so San Diego will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the National League Central Division.

The Padres no longer have a prayer. San Diego has been toastified. --Bob

Colorado has lost 81 games so the Rockies cannot win more than 81 games. San Francisco has won 99 games so Colorado cannot win the National League Western Division. The Dodgers have won 98 games so the Rockies will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the National League Western Division. Milwaukee and St. Louis each have won at least 83 games so Colorado will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the National League Central Division.

It's downhill all the way for this year's Rockies. Colorado has been toastified. --Bob
I started looking for this a month ago, but then we actually started winning a few games on the road.

Oh well. Just wait until next year!

The toaster could get quite a workout tomorrow. Depending on today's results, you could have a four-team playoff for two wildcard spots in the American League or various other playoff scenarios for one or two spots. You could also have a playoff between the Dodgers and Giants for the NL West championship.

Seattle has lost 71 games so the Mariners cannot win more than 91 games. Houston has won 95 games so Seattle cannot win the American League Western Division. Tampa Bay, the Yankees, and the Red Sox each have won at least 92 games so the Mariners will finish behind at least two non-division winners in the American League Eastern Division.

That's two full decades without post-season baseball in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle has been toastified. --Bob

Toronto has lost 71 games and the Blue Jays have won 91 games. Tampa Bay has won 100 games so Toronto did not win the American League Eastern Division. The Red Sox and the Yankees each have won 92 games so the Blue Jays finished behind two non-division winners in the American League Eastern Division.

The Blue Jays may be the most talented fourth place team in the history of the division era, but that'll have to be their consolation prize. Toronto has been toastified. --Bob

..for the "privilege" of losing to the Rays in the ALDS.

If the Blue Jays can make some significant improvements in their pitching this offseason, there will be a whole lotta trouble for the rest of the AL East. That lineup is some kinda dangerous.

I don't give either team much of a chance against a rested Rays team. But...that's why we play the games.

If the RS don't make it, I'd like to see new blood like the White Sox (in spite of Tony LaRussa) get to the WS.

I am in complete agreement...well, with the exception of the "RS" part 8)

I do not care to see the Rays or Astros in the WS again for a while.
Also why I'd like to see the Brewers as the NL rep.
