Daughter update

Things are slow today at work, so I have time to write this.
Heather finally got her insurance payments in June from her auto accident last year. Two payments of $100,000, but one lawyer took 40% of one check, and another took 35% of the other. That's in addition to medical expenses.
They won't have to rebreak her wrist and insert a plate. She'll have to live with a slightly crooked wrist.
Her endoscopic surgery went well, but the three holes in her belly they made for access are slow to heal. That wasn't connected to the accident.
She used some of the insurance money to move to the Denver area. That's where her daughters still live.
She's given up on the empty promises from the director, who saw her as an extra and gave her a speaking role in Scarlett. That still hasn't been shown. The last check I did on IMDb showed it was in post-production with a release date of Dec. 31. They added an "Additional cast" list, and she's not on it.
She had someone who said she would start a new anti-human-trafficking organization, but she flaked out. She's now trying to work for the Denver Human Trafficking Task Force, so she'll have a job with benefits.
She's still on the job she's had for seven years with the independent organization. They just sent her to Tijuana to rescue four siblings aged 2-4 that were kidnapped by someone for pornography purposes. She'll be working with the FBI and State Department.
She flew to San Diego yesterday then rented a car to cross the border. If you fly to Mexico, you have to go through Covid testing; if you drive, you don't. She had to wait for an hour and a half to get through the express lane from the U.S. I told her she'd have that happen, and she should have someone from the FBI meet her on the U.S. side to escort her through instead of the Mexican side.
The motel the FBI put her in is near the beach but is a dump. After she checked in, she went to a Fairfield by Mariott Hotel downtown. We don't know if they thought they were doing her a favor by getting a motel near the beach. There's only one other place near there, and it's next to the bull ring and sports stadium. I've never been there, but it looks like a particularly unsafe area to be in. The places she has to go to are all downtown anyway.
She will have to get some paperwork done at several places in Tijuana, then go back to San Diego for more paperwork, then go back to Tijuana to pick up the children. They will first be turned over to Social Services then given to the parents if approved.
She hopes this will be the last in-person rescue she needs to do. At least the previous ones were in Europe.
