About Those 17 Intel Agencies

#1 Post by Spock » Mon Aug 16, 2021 1:39 pm

that said Russia meddled in the 2016 election in Trump's favor.

Are they the same agencies that said the Afghan Gov't would hold out for 90 days when it was more like 90 hours? Realistically, it was more like 90 seconds.

Gee, good thing we have the most expensive (and self-congratulating) intel complex in the world.

They're the grandchildren of the agencies that said we could turn over the defense of South Vietnam to their army.

Don't forget it was your hero, Mad King Donald, who negotiated with his great friends the Taliban that we'd withdraw from Afganistan in May.

No, that was our military's assessment. Our military didn't weigh in on the 2016 election.

Understanding the past is much more accurate when you cooperate with an audit.

Their complete lack of experience with respect to election audits has been all over the news. Hell, they allowed black and blue pens (which can be used to mark ballots) into the same room as ballots, contrary to state law, which we know only because a reporter managed to get herself credentialed as one of the counters. And the clown who runs "Cyber Ninjas" was a huge proponent of ludicrous conspiracy theories.

And that's not even getting into the comedy act involving examining the ballots under ultraviolet light. --Bob

Can’t tell for sure whether you’re actually saying that you think that they didn’t. If so, you, like Trump, are either incredibly gullible when it comes to Putin or lying.

None of those statements cite any proof. Are you aware that CNN and several prominent Democrats espoused similar "ludicrous conspiracy theories" prior to this election. The current VP is on video saying that she had a roomful of hackers and there was NO voting machine they were unable to hack. Is that also a "ludicrous conspiracy theory?"

There is a big difference between expressing concern before an election about possible interference in an effort to get election officials to tighten security and expressing groundless conspiracy theories months after the election when no evidence has been produced to support those theories.

No shit. These were brought up after 2016, but before 2020. Are they still "ludicrous conspiracy theories" when they come from your side after losing an election?

Do you understand the difference between warning that elections could be hacked in an effort to improve security and filing dozens of baseless lawsuits without any evidence that the 2020 election was hacked and continuing to claim the election was rigged without any evidence? How many lawsuits did Hillary supporters file after the 2016 election? How many times did she or any prominent Democrats claim she really won the election but it was rigged? Zero. Because in the real world, as opposed to the Donald Trump conspiracy world, you need evidence to make such claims, especially if you're going to file a lawsuit challenging election results.

It's more accurate to say that the increased scrutiny resulting from the various stories you cited here resulted in increased security measures that every independent election observer states resulted in the most secure elections in our history.

Well, so is yours. An air-gapped machine can be hacked. At some point it, or the machines that loaded the software were connected or will be connected. Or someone plugged in a USB device temporarily. How the heck would they be able to get the results out of the machine onto the machines that total all the machines?

Possibly on a LAN that's not Internet-connected?

That doesn't prevent a USB device from being used and as I implied, prior to it being air-gapped it was either connected to the internet or a network that some other machine was or had been connected to the internet is on. Nothing is safe but a Big Chief tablet.

For what it's worth, when I was still working at the Georgia Lottery, one of the scams they warned us about was accepting "free" flash drives from unknown sources at trade shows, etc. and plugging them into various devices on our network. That's one big way that ransomware and other malware gets onto systems.

For what it's worth, when I was still working at the Georgia Lottery, one of the scams they warned us about was accepting "free" flash drives from unknown sources at trade shows, etc. and plugging them into various devices on our network. That's one big way that ransomware and other malware gets onto systems.
Yep, seen it happen.

~~ Thomas Jefferson
