RIP Dusty Hill

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Jul 28, 2021 2:36 pm

Long-time bassist for ZZ Top. He joined the group shortly before they made their first album in 1971 and was with original members Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard for 50 years. The band performed its last concert only a week ago.

Age 72.

I read somewhere recently that they hold the distinction of being one of the few bands to have the same lineup and management for over 50 years. It must have been a close knit group. Here is Dusty on vocals:

They were supposed to play here in Evansville on July 21, but the show had to be canceled because of Dusty's hip injury. Sad news -- I always liked their music and their attitude.
