5th Grader thread (spoilers)

I was confused by the introduction of the first contestant. He's a registered nurse, but he also has a Ph.D. in Public Health (and he used to be a cop). Would this Ph.D. be one of the advanced degrees an RN would take while continuing to work as a nurse?
The best bit of banter was when he called on Sierra as his assistant. Sierra said that she wanted to be a coroner. "When you can't help them any more, I can!"
TV shows like CSI and Bones must be having an effect. Before those shows, could you have ever imagined a ten-year-old girl saying she wanted to grow up to be a coroner?
The second contestant was the one rayxtwo had told us about. Ben had a mother whom MBFFB would love; she was rooting for her son while holding a sign: "GO STUPID CHICKEN".
Their family is Chinese-American. Ben's childhood nickname was Benjy; in Chinese, that translates to "stupid chicken"

Spoiler
Anyway, this contestant quickly ran into trouble on his third question, 3rd Grade Math:
Sierra said 40 cents.
He went with that, and went home with nothing.
Jeff mentions that Nathan and Mackenzie had the right answer. Only two of the five 5th graders could do 3rd grade math? <sigh>
He began to do the math, then decided to peek at Sierra's answer. If a pound of peanuts costs 48 cents, how much does 5/8 of a pound of peanuts cost?

Spoiler
Ben was saved by Sierra on a 2nd Grade Spelling question, when he forgot the silent 'e' in "Independence Day", but he ended doing moderately well (considering the quality of this show's contestants).
He made it up to $100K, then he asks Olivia what her best subjects are. She mentions everything left on the board, except World History. So Ben naturally decides to go with...5th Grade World History. Olivia gives a wide-eyed "What the HELL are you doing?" look.

Ben thinks the name sounds Italian, but he doesn't want to risk it. He doesn't want to use his peek, either, since doing so would compel him to answer, so he walks with his $100K. Jeff reveals that Olivia had also written Italy, so it was good that he left when he did.Copernicus, the legendary 16th century astronomer, was born in what country?
