Triple Timeline! - Seven Days a Week

In the Date/Event Well, below, is a list of 14 historic/memorable events and their corresponding calendar date (month and day) . Match each event to the year AND the day of the week on which each occurred. There are two events for each weekday.

And, YES, we have 14 events and 14 years so I shouldn't have to lock the thread due to my inability to count.

Each correct year/event is worth two points and each correct weekday is also worth two. I'm not looking forward to scoring this one.

Your answers should look something like this:

For ruining what was supposed to be a relaxing Tuesday morning for me.... you're getting full explanations of the work I did in my head to come up with these! Being good at connecting dates to days of the week, I should be able to figure most of these out thanks to the two-per-day limit....

Sunday
1964 - February 9th, The Beatles first perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. (Should be a Sunday, obviously, but to be sure... yes, '64 was a Saturday leap day, so the 9th would be Sunday)
1941 - December 7, The Japanese attack Pearl Harbor (Kinda well known...)

Monday
1983 - February 28, M*A*S*H series finale, Goodbye, Farewell and Amen airs (And '84 was a Wednesday leap day, so the previous 28th goes back two days from there...)
1980 - December 8, John Lennon is murdered in front of his NYC apartment (Even without the MNF clue, 41+28=69--->75--->80, so this can be derived just from knowing the Pearl Harbor one...)

Tuesday
2001 - September 11, Terrorists attacks result in tragedy in New York City, The Pentagon and Pennsylvania airspace (No work needed)
1955 - October 4, Brooklyn Dodgers (finally) defeat the NY Yankees in Game 7 of the World Series (Thanks to BTTF, I know November 1955 began on a Tuesday, so October 4 would also be a Tuesday that year.... no, I didn't need your silly hint!)

Wednesday
2021 - January 20, Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th US President (I did a lot of brainwork to try and work backwards on this one... then remembered it had to be Wednesday since I was at my Mom's for lunch)
2014 - September 24, TV Series Black-ish debuts on ABC (it's still on the same week night) (Got the year by process of elimination. I know the stupid Mecca DJ includes this in his "what's on TV tonight" bit, so it has to either be Monday or Wednesday... and lo and behold, 9/24/14 is a Wed!)

Thursday
1937 - May 6, The Hindenburg, the largest dirigible ever built, bursts into flames in Lakehurst, New Jersey (37+56=93... 1992=1998.. so leap forward one day from 5/6/98 being a Wednesday and you get Thursday!)
1452 - April 15, Leonardo Da Vinci, artist, inventor, pioneer, genius (and probably time traveler) is born (Duh on the year, and this is the last hole I had left... and no, I'm not trying to figure this one out while also transitioning from the Gregorian back to the Julian calendar...)

Friday
2012 - January 13, Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia runs aground, capsizes, and later sinks near Tuscany (I was still regularly drawing ES avatars when this happened, so it has to be 2012... and that was a Jan/Apr/Jul Friday the 13th year)
1963 - November 22, President John Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas (Already knew this...)

Saturday
1973 - October 20, President Nixon orders three different people from the AGs office to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox, but the first two resign instead. (I believe Saturday is referenced in this event, and the work I did to confirm this is way too complicated to list...)
1974 - January 19, UCLA men's basketball team's NCAA record 88-game streak ends as they fall to Notre Dame 71-70 (Year by PoE, 74+28=02, 1/1/2000 was a Sat, so 1/1/2002 was a Tue, making 1/19/74 a Sat...)

Probably too late to correct this once I've posted answers already..although if you look at the time stamps you'll see I didn't have time to look at anyone else's answers...but in my proofreading I see that I still managed to post the same event twice...therefore I will guess that the Hindenburg disaster happened on a Friday, not Pearl Harbor, which I KNOW was on a Sunday. If you can't credit the correction..assuming I'm even right, that is..no big deal..I did WAY better that I thought I would regardless.

Apparently I STILL don't have this cut and paste thing down pat yet.

Hint 2: Breathe! It's not as hard as you may think...okay, forget that, it's really hard, but this is week 4 of Jamboree and you need to step up your game...) Think it through!

Hint 3: Recall that Howard Cosell (while at work) made the national announcement of John Lennon's death.

Sunday
Year - event
Year - event

Monday
Year - event

Saturday

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
