I intuit the Pens threw games 4 of the last 2 series to get an extra home game so they can re-up Marian Hossa.

I hear pens fans have gobbled up a couple thousand tickets per game at Joe Louis Arena for the finals.

Hard to believe the Red Wings cant sell out.

OK, I thought I posted this but I musta lost it.

As I said here before, I didn't expect the Flyers to beat the Pens. BUT I didn't expect them to beat Montreal, either, so go figure.

Anyway, I really wanted the Flyers to win one game to honor Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski.

He was a Philadelphia cop who was shot by a cowardly perp (is there any other kind?). He was a huge Flyers fan and was buried on the first day of the series with Pittsburgh.

After he said the eulogy, he son asked the packed house at the Cathedral to give a rousing cheer for the Flyers, which they did. The best way to honor his father, he said.

Of course, Stevens tells the Flyers who were completely uninspired in Game 1.

Anyway, before Game 3, the Flyers honored him before the game. The flyers and Penguins all lined up and tapped their sticks on the ice. Classy move by the Pens and we thank them.

So, the Flyers have won a game, so I am happy, even if it wasn't Game , when they honored Sgt. Lizcbinski.

this got coverage here as well

the Pens have a little too much for the Flyers.
Mario gets an extra $2 mill for Game 5.

I was not disappointed when I saw that the Flyers won last night.

The longer this goes, the better.

I'm not worried.

Flyers started tiring and breaking down in the third period again- that has happened in every game of the series thus far.

That shows me they cannot sustain what they were doing in the first 2 periods yesterday for a full 60 minutes.

So there is no way they do this three more games.

Yes- it'll be much cooler to see them clinch on home ice. It's always better when the fans are happy when a clinch occurs.

Interesting factoid- the last time a Pittsburgh team clinched a championship at home in Pittsburgh was in 1960, when the Buccos beat the Yanks in the World Series on Maz' walk-off HR.

Since then, the Pirates have won two more world championships, but won both at Baltimore.

The Penguins have won two Stanley Cups, but clinched them on Minnesota's and then Chicago's home ice.

The Steelers have won five Super Bowls, but at neutral sites in New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, and Detroit.

And the Panthers won a football national championship, but that was in New Orleans.

Especially since I'll get the best of both worlds.

I live in the Philly area so I'll get to see the delrious Pens' fans on TV while gloating to the glum Flyers' fans I see at work and around town!

I'm absolutely stunned that the Red Wings have not been selling out home playoff games. Stunned.

We'll still win the Cup, though.

World championships? Hah!

They are domestic league championships, nothing more.

World champions have to play teams from more than two countries.
