Bluetooth headphones
I'm looking for recommendations for bluetooth headphones/systems for watching TV, with two of us. Downstairs neighbor asked us to turn down the volume later at night, and if we do that, roomie can't hear it.
Right now we have a house-brand Best Buy transmitter, with previously purchased headphones that are unrelated. After about six months, the crackling has become unbearable. We've done all the tricks I found to eliminate Bluetooth crackle.
The guy at Best Buy today said to try a high-end headphone set before making any changes to the transmitter, even though I argued that since we are both getting crackle on the right side, that suggests the problem is with the transmitter rather than the headphones.
Anyway, here are some paths I'm looking at. Please chime in if you have opinions.
Jabra Elite 45H - $73
Philips PH805 - $120
Sennheiser has a system that replaced the systems you had to wear, I think, but I plan to call them and describe our situation and see what they say. It does sound like they have thought about this market, for folks with some hearing-impairment who need better options for watchign TV.

Re: Bluetooth headphones
OK, I just tried my cheapo headphones with my computer instead of the TV, and there is no substantial crackling. So the issue is indeed the transmitter.
Might look into Sennheiser system anyway, if there is no way to improve the BB transmitter situation.

Re: Bluetooth headphones
This is what I use. You can get them at half price used. I got two at $100 off when they came out.

The link doesn't show anything in particular. Just a page full of different things. Maybe you were logged in when you grabbed the link so it doesn't work for anyone else. ..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Re: Bluetooth headphones
Tossing this out in case you have any hearing issues (like I do): I use an Aftershokz bone conduction unit. Tiny. Comfortable. Most importantly - you do not hear with it via your ears - the pods conduct sound through the bone behind your ears, nothing goes inside or over your ear. This does two things for me: (1) The sound quality is amazing. I hear things that my old, defective ears have not heard in years. (2) You can still hear normally through your ears. So you can listen to the dialogue on a TV program and still hear conversation in the room. They are not cheap, about $175, but they work well.

Jaybee, that sounds wonderful! I am on the Asperger's spectrum, which in my case means I have super-hearing, but my roommate is 85, and his is no longer perfect. This sounds like a worthy experiment!
