If you're going to be a boastful jerk...

... about how much you spent, then don't be surprised at the reaction, especially if you are stiffing others.

Recently, there was the story about the guy who was arrested for trespassing at Disney World because he refused the temperature check. He basically said "I paid $15,000 to be here, you can't arrest me."

Normally, I'd just chalk that up as another entitled-type person, but it gets more interesting -- and this is where I get miffed, because I've had to deal with owners like this person.

A local Baton Rouge TV station, WBRZ (the person in question, Kelly Sills and his business are from there) pointed out that, despite bragging on how much he spent at Disney World, his company is very behind on paying people, and has defaulted on a number of state projects.

And -- this is the part that angers me, because I had a company I worked for [very briefly] pull this crap -- one of the folks they didn't pay was their health insurance carrier (despite withholding funds from their employees to help pay for it), discovered when an employee had a leg amputated as a result of a motorcycle accident, only to be told later that it wasn't covered because the premium hadn't been paid.

Sorry for venting, but this is the crap behavior that angers me, both as an accountant and as a person.
