1) The famous "Car Warranty" calls.

I push the button to speak with a live person and I ask them which of my vehicles they are referring to. They hang up immediately.

Found another variation this morning.

2) Got called with "important info" about my credit card.

Got to a live person in Bangalore and asked which of my credit cards they were calling about-I only have one but I did not tell them that.

Response was -"We are calling about your Visa, Mastercard, American Express."

I asked again -which of my cards are you referring to.

Immediate hang-up.

Nope, haven't seen that one yet.

I get calls from my grandson telling me that he's in trouble and needs money.

But the funniest one I got was from "Windows technical support," telling me that my account had been compromised or something like that. I cussed him out (including some choice four-letter words) and hung up. He then called me back and said something to the effect that we were disconnected but that it was urgent that he talk with me. I cussed him out again and hung up. Five seconds later, he called me up and cussed me out. Since English probably wasn't his native language, he didn't do nearly as good a job of it as I did.

I love playing with them (i.e. wasting their time). It is entertaining.

I try to keep them on as long as possible, letting them think they have a catch.

On the car warranty I always make them wait while "I go look to see what kind of car I have". Then I tell them something like a 1967 AMC Rambler. I never get the offer.

I used to play with them, but now I block most spammers by using TrueCaller and Google Voice.
