I've seen just three of the films up for any award: Mank, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, and Greyhound.

Mank goes to prove my theory that movies about Hollywood get awards from Hollywood (or at least get nominated).

I wonder what the screenplay for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm was adapted from.

The sound in Greyhound wasn't extraordinary.

For years, there has been controversy/discussion on who really wrote the screenplay to Citizen Kane.

Or, more accurately, who wrote most of it? Was it a collaboration between Mank and Welles? Was it Mank at the start, taken over by Welles? Did Welles really try to buy out Mank's screen credit but the WGA objected?

Whatever the story, the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay went to both of them.

That "Mank," the movie, didn't get a screenplay nomination tickles me.

For the record, I liked Mank very much but there are movies I liked better. I am glad Amanda Seyfried wasn't overlooked for her Marion Davies. A terrific performance.
