CBS and NBC news journalist since 1961 who was on the scene when Robert Kennedy was assassinated. He was also a collateral descendant of the Civil War figure Dr. Samuel Mudd who treated John Wilkes Booth after the Lincoln assassination. After leaving NBC, Mudd hosted various shows on the History Channel for a number of years.
