Author of acclaimed children's books, including The Phantom Tollbooth and The Dot and the Line. A new film version of The Phantom Tollbooth is reportedly under development.

Both of those books were turned into film (the former as a short) by animation wizard Chuck Jones for MGM. Unfortunately, they were pretty much the end of the line there, as MGM shut down the animation department after Tollbooth was made.

The Dot and the Line won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 1965.
