I’m baffled by

#1 Post by wbtravis007 » Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:49 pm

how people who seem to me to be intelligent can stand the man.

I totally get why the politicians won’t cross him.

Just can’t get why other intelligent people can stand him.

I know. Hilz and what not.

But still.

It's a "love the sinner, hate the sin" kind of thing. But seriously, I have a good friend who I consider to be intelligent. He doesn't care for Trump the man, but believes that Trump's policies were the right ones for the country, particularly with respect to the border wall and immigration.

Policy, not personality. Facts, not fiction. That he's not Hilz is simply a bonus.

I guess a more precise version is: "Trump tried to kill his vice president and umpteen members of Congress in a riot he fomented and was responsible for tens of thousands of needless COVID deaths but he built 15 miles of border wall in four years, so everything's OK."

I think what it really is, is, "Trump hates the same people we hate."

Yeah. I hear that a lot.

Not really worth arguing about the supposed promises made promises kept in a rational way with the people that I know who probably would let him grab them by the whatever, as he bragged, but still maintain that it’s all about policy.

But bless your little pea- pickin heart anyway.
