For the first time since 1960, no one at all was selected for the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021. There will still be an induction ceremony this summer because the ceremony for the four people selected in 2020 had to be postponed. --Bob

SI says 2013:

No One Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame for First Time Since 2013

For the first time since 2013, no players were elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

This rare occurrence has only happened nine times in 77 years of balloting by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Players have to receive at least 75% of the vote to be elected into Cooperstown.

That's the last time THE WRITERS didn't elect someone. The last time no one at all was selected was 1960. --Bob

Curt Schilling (16 votes short) in letter to the Hall of Fame:

"I will not participate in the final year of voting. I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I’ll defer to the veterans committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player.''

If there were an Assholes Hall of Fame, Schilling would make it on the first ballot.
