Well, I guess that's kind of interesting.

Plus, if you go back to Bob# not my president exhortations, plus the 4 year attempts to oust him...
Gosh, I dunno.
I stand by both impeachment efforts. But I never denied that Donny had, and was entitled to exercise, the formal powers of the Oval Office. I just reviled and protested against the manner in which he exercised those powers, and denied his MORAL right to the courtesies and respect ordinarily accorded the President of the United States.

Nor did I ever deny that Donny won the election in 2016, much less suggest violent insurrection. --Bob

What were the 4 year attempts to oust him? One impeachment 3 years in. And Romney was right to vote to convict, although no one seriously thought that others would.

The people who aren't willing to "get on with it" are the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol and keep insisting that there was fraud in the election. One of them even wrote a lengthy farewell address to this Bored to that effect. All the while they are trying to purge their members who aren't sufficiently loyal and spouting theories about Jewish space lasers causing the California wildfires.

Democrats are moving on. They are addressing the coronavirus. They are trying to get the economy back on its feet. It's the Republicans who seem locked in the past.

You’re the one who brought it up, Dear. And since it wasn’t the first time I thought I’d just see if you would splain what you’re trying to say.

You still haven’t. That’s fine. No big deal to me at all.

So far, the only people to be censured by any entity in connection with the January 6 insurrection are Republicans who voted to impeach Donny. And the Arizona State Republican Party censured Republican Governor Doug Ducey for refusing to overturn the election.

Yes, it's the organized Republican Party that has gone all-in on overturning the will of the people. So no, we will not simply allow this to fade quietly into the night. Not until the Republican Party comes to grips with what it's become.

You yourself seem to be saying that if the Republicans do nominate Donny again in 2024, you'll vote for him again. That's part of the problem. Until the Republican Party (and that means its voters) forcefully repudiates the lies, it doesn't deserve to hold, and can't be trusted with, political power. --Bob

You can now add South Carolina Representative Tom Rice to the list, censured by his state's Republican party for his impeachment vote.

And you can subtract Trump's lead attorney in the impeachment trial, Butch Bowers (coincidentally from South Carolina) and another South Carolina attorney, Deborah Barbier, from Trump's team. They have quit in a "mutual decision." This probably means that (1) they realized Trump wasn't going to pay, and/or (2) they were leery about their bar licenses if they spouted some of the nonsense that Trump undoubtedly wanted them to say.

Well, there's always Rudy Giuliani.

We're now up to five members of the Trump defense team who have headed for the exit doors. I must admit that I was leery about the idea of this impeachment trial beforehand, but it's shaping up to be more and more of a total trainwreck for Trump and his enablers. He still won't be convicted, but the hypocrisy of those like Hawley and Cruz covering for him will become that much more apparent. I'm going to have to stock up on popcorn to watch this play out on CNN.
