The 20th Annual Black Tuesday List

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Sat Jan 23, 2021 7:57 am

An LB.... er, Bored tradition. The posters who showed up to make Tuesday January 23, 2001 the busiest posting day at the time, and the record for the original Go Bored. 1342 posts in all, thanks to a phone game malfunction and a late night Gus chase. This will be the 21st time I've posted this list, and if you didn't appear on it before, chances are you won't be appearing on it this year either...

This will be the 21st time I've posted this list, and if you didn't appear on it before, chances are you won't be appearing on it this year either...
An old man is at the movies watching the feature with his grandson. In the middle of the movie, there's a swimming hole scene featuring some nubile and attractive young women. Just as they're about to reach a state of undress that might be termed interesting, a train comes rumbling through between the camera and the swimming hole. And of course, by the time the train has passed, the young women are all safely in the water, their modesty intact.

The old man turns to his grandson and says, "Let this be a lesson in perseverance. This is the 16th time I've watched this movie. And by God, one of these days that train is going to be late."

So how come I'm not on the list? --Bob

Interesting. I went back and counted 19 that I'm sure I've met. Probably a few more but I'm ... well .... old, so not sure if I'm remembering all the names. On that note, I believe that I first posted on this board either in late December '99 or early January '00. Hard to believe that it's been that long. The BAM bored was the first time I ever posted anything on this interweb thingie. I was a couple of days behind Silvercamero.

Also a bit sad and nostalgic to see so many of those names that have not been here for a long, long time.

I've met 15 of those on this list.

Almost met Im_Ace but the Disney Light Parade began and separated us.

Met the foolish old man in the theatre.

I've met a few more than this, but they're not on the list -- SilverCamaro and Skoop, for example.

Oh, same here. Skoop, Sivercamaro, Peacock2121, Renovator, TxGrandma, TMITSS, TheConfessor, and some others I can't recall at the moment.

Some on the list I spoke to on the phone (during our war dialing period). DasBooch and maybe another I had listed elsewhere.
