BD's away message on AIM is more upbeat than I've seen in a while. I wonder if FSIL's impending arrival has anything to do with it. :D

I've mentioned FSIL's tendency to get injured. We (GW and I) discovered a new one last week. BD informed us at one point that he had gotten a scratched cornea while in Iraq, when someone set off a flare right in front of him. Last week, we got word that he had visited the ER. Again. Turned out it wasn't a scratched cornea. It was a small piece of metal embedded in the eye which was now working its way out. Just another small operation, ho hum.

So he'll have the residual bruising or whatever from that when he arrives. Good thing the photographer can play with Photoshop. Otherwise people will think BD beat him up when they see the engagement photo.

Not likely to be any noticeable mark from that except perhaps a red eye. Nothing a little visine can't fix, at least temporarily...

What is more worrisome to me would be the fact that they missed it in the first place!
