Based on the apparent knowledge of history, or lack thereof, amongst a seemingly significant portion of the population, as suggested by the "famous" names offered as examples, I am not sure Andrew Jackson would even qualify anymore as "famous"...

Yeah, but if that's the only criterion for being in the Hot Seat, I foresee a lot of thousandaires coming out of this "special week".NellyLunatic1980 wrote:I don't think that it would be that hard to find people with names like Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, John Kennedy, or Don Johnson. Same idea behind the major publicity for the foibles and failings of famous people. You get to laugh at them and think how much better you are than they are.MarleysGh0st wrote:This is the kind of stinking crap TPTB have come up with to make the game more exciting?
How will they cast, I wonder? Will they cast for opposites? Will we see someone named Michael Jordan who's shaped more like Danny DeVito? A Moms Mabley look-alike named Vanessa Williams? Someone genuinely funny named Jack Black?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Crap. It's looking more and more like they're no longer doing the noon auditions. They'd freakin' better come to Boston this year. On any day except June 16th and 17th.
BTW, it's also too bad that snaxx has already been on the show. Celebrity name, doncha know?

Sprots can correct me, but I believe that the University of Colorado women's basketball team started both a Britney Spears and a Whitney Houston this year, with one of them actually singing the national anthem before a game.goongas wrote:FAMOUS NAMES WEEK

There was a panel show in the 1950's for which people with famous names were all the contestants:

I'm just picturing Meredith trying to channel Robert Q. Lewis.

I am about 25% sure of this.

What a coincidence! I quoted that famous medical toxicologist to the policemen who met my snake. Here's the best part. Although they may not have recognized his name, they already were familiar with his work.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Cool! I should have Jeff audition.
